Jar & Kettle

Terms of Use

Last updated: October 2, 2026

1. Agreeing to these terms

Jar & Kettle is published by Crater Ink Studios LLC ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us. By ticking the box and using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Who the app is for

The app is for adults aged 18 and over. Recipes made with alcohol are for people of legal drinking age where they live (21 in the United States).

If you make something from the app for a child, or for anyone else, that is your decision and your responsibility. Follow every caution, and ask their doctor first.

3. This is not medical advice

The app is a collection of recipes, traditional uses and general safety information. It is not medical advice. Nothing in it is meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition, and using it does not make us your doctor or adviser.

Traditional uses are shared as history. They are not promises about what a recipe will do for you.

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the herbal recipes if you are pregnant, nursing, managing a health condition or taking any medication. Never put off seeing a doctor, or ignore what a doctor has told you, because of something in the app.

4. You take on the risk

You decide what to make and whether to eat it, drink it or put it on your skin. You do so at your own risk.

You are responsible for reading every ingredient and every caution, and for checking them against your own allergies, sensitivities, health conditions and medicines, and those of anyone you share with.

Natural does not always mean safe. The app's guide to checking for a reaction is not an allergy test and does not rule out a reaction.

5. If you have a reaction

Stop using it straight away and call your doctor.

If you have trouble breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, fainting, or any reaction that is severe or getting worse, call 911 (or your local emergency number) or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. Do not wait, and do not look to the app for help in an emergency.

6. Making and storing things safely

You are responsible for how you make and keep what you make: clean hands and equipment, following the steps and temperatures in the recipe, refrigerating promptly, and labeling and dating each thing you store.

Storage times in the app are general guides, not guarantees. A "throw away after" date is a limit: throw the food away once that day has passed, even if it seems fine. If anything looks, smells or tastes wrong, throw it out.

The Pantry works its dates out from what you enter. It is a convenience, not a record you should rely on in place of your own labels and judgment. Kitchens, ingredients and refrigerators differ.

7. Personal use only

The recipes are for making things for your own household. The app is not a guide to producing food, drinks, cosmetics or cleaning products for sale.

If you sell or give away anything you make, you alone are responsible for following the food, cosmetic, labeling, licensing and other laws that apply. The body and household recipes have not been tested, reviewed or approved by any government agency.

8. No guarantees

The app is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and we name our sources, but we do not promise that it is complete, current or free of mistakes, or that any recipe will turn out a particular way. The organizations we cite have not reviewed or endorsed the app.

9. Limits on our responsibility

To the fullest extent the law allows, Crater Ink Studios LLC and its owners are not responsible for any illness, injury, allergic or other reaction, loss or damage that comes from using the app or from making, eating, drinking, applying, storing, sharing or selling anything based on it.

Where the law does not allow our responsibility to be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app. Some places do not allow some of these limits; where that is so, they apply only as far as the law allows.

If someone makes a claim against us because of how you used the app, or because of something you made and gave or sold to another person, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. When they change in a way that matters, the app will ask you to read and agree to them again before you carry on.

11. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, where Crater Ink Studios LLC is formed. Any dispute will be heard in the courts of Pennsylvania.
