How to play Snugtrail

Snugtrail is a jigsaw puzzle game for iPhone and iPad. You drag pieces onto a board with your finger. When two pieces that belong together touch, they snap together and stay joined, and you can move the joined group as one. The puzzle is finished when every piece is in place.

Two ways to lay out the pieces

Snugtrail has two layouts, and you can switch between them at any time.

Sorting the Box

The Box has three filters: All, Edges and By color. Edges shows only the pieces with a flat side, which is how most people start a jigsaw.

In a league puzzle, each Peek lowers your score by 10% and using Ghost lowers it by 15%. Outside the league they cost nothing.

Every picture comes in every size. You choose the size each time you start a puzzle.

The trail

The trail is a path of puzzles through six sections. Each section has ten stops. The tenth stop is a boss puzzle, and beating the boss opens the next section. You choose the puzzle size at each stop, and each boss has a minimum size.

What happens each day

Plays on the free plan

On the free plan, starting a puzzle uses one play. You can hold up to three plays, and one play comes back every two hours. The first puzzle you start each day is free and uses no play. You can also buy a play with 80 coins. Coins are earned by finishing puzzles. Plays cannot be bought with money. A league puzzle never uses a play.

Snugtrail Plus has no plays, and neither does the Kids profile.

Coins and prizes

Finishing a puzzle earns coins, and bigger puzzles earn more. Coins buy a play for 80 coins, or a streak shield for 200 coins. A streak shield protects your day streak if you miss a day.

Finishing a puzzle also gives you a scratch card. Prizes include badges for your trophy room and prize pictures. Scratch cards and prizes are earned in play and are never sold.
