Privacy policy
Last updated: September 26, 2026
Snugtrail is made by Crater Ink Studios LLC, Pennsylvania, USA ("we"). This policy explains what the Snugtrail app and this website (craterinkstudios.com) collect and why. Questions: hello@craterinkstudios.com.
What we collect
- Your account: if you sign in with Apple, we receive an account identifier and, only if you choose to share it, your email address (Apple lets you hide it).
- Your game: puzzle progress, trail position, league scores and move timings (used to check scores are genuine), board settings, when you last played (so we can send a come-back reminder), and, once name entry is in the app, the display name and token you pick for leagues.
- Purchases: Apple processes all payments. We never see your card. We receive which plan or pack you have and when it renews or expires, through our payments provider RevenueCat, which also sends us the transaction record (plan, price, currency, country and transaction id) that we keep for bookkeeping.
- Notifications: if you turn them on, your device's push token and time zone, so notifications arrive at a sensible hour. Turning them off in the app removes the token from our servers; turning them off in iOS Settings stops delivery, and we remove the token when Apple reports it is no longer valid.
- Usage counts: how many puzzles get finished, cards picked and prizes revealed, recorded without your account id, counted into daily totals each night, with the raw entries deleted after 30 days. We ship no crash-reporting or analytics tool.
We do not show ads, sell your information, or use third-party advertising or tracking tools.
Children
Snugtrail has a Kids profile for children playing on a grown-up's device.
- Kids profiles are created and managed by the grown-up account holder.
- We do not collect personal information from children. A Kids profile holds puzzle progress, its sticker book, and a nickname chosen by the grown-up.
- A grown-up can set a daily play limit and quiet hours for the Kids profile. Those settings, and the minutes played today, are kept on the device and are not sent to us.
- If you link a child's own iPad to the household (coming in an update), it gets an anonymous account identifier so its progress can sync. It holds no name, email or contact details, and it is deleted with the grown-up's account.
- Kids profiles never see purchases, leagues or links out of the app, and switching out of the Kids profile needs a grown-up.
If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Where it is stored
Game data is stored with our hosting provider Supabase in the United States, and purchase records with RevenueCat. Both process it only on our behalf.
Your choices
You can delete your account and its data from inside the app (Me → Settings → Delete account) or by emailing us. The one exception is the purchase records Apple and RevenueCat send us, which we keep for as long as tax and accounting rules require; they hold a transaction id and your account id, never your name or card. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription; manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.
This website
craterinkstudios.com, where these pages live, is a static site. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for a short time to run the service. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the request for the font files.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
